Quiet Logistics Custom Case
How To Page…

When setting up the case to go to an event

  1. Insert the full battery into the case.

  2. Install the vertical screen onto its mount and ensure it’s turned on. Then plug it into the battery and check that the Ipad is charging.

  3. Plug in the horizontal iPad cable and then install the horizontal Ipad and again check that it is charging.

  4. Both Ipads should be showing that they are charging and if they are then turn on the App on both Ipads, double check the buttons are working, if so then you’re good to go!

Special note: If you are at the event and there is an opportunity to plug into a power outlet then you can do so by simply plugging it in.

Charging the battery and Ipads

When charging at night before an event

Follow these steps exactly in the order they are listed.

  1. Take the battery and Ipads out of the case.

  2. Plug the battery into the wall outlet and ensure it says it is charging (If the battery is completely dead you may need to give it 5 mins to get a bit of juice)

  3. Then plug the Ipads into the battery using the 2 spare Ipad charging cables. Ensure the Ipads are showing that they are charging. If they are not unplug from the battery end and replug.

A couple of things to check

Ideally, we want more power going into the battery than going out when it’s charging. When you plug in the battery you may need to give it a few minutes before you can plug in the Ipads. You can see how much energy is going IN vs OUT on the battery display screen.

Double check that the Ipads are showing that they are being charged. If they are not then unplug the Ipads from the battery port (Not at the Ipad port) and plug back in.

If the Ipads are completely dead you will need to plug them into a well charged battery and wait for them to have a bit of juice before they turn on.

If you are charging all devices at night pull everything out and use the spare charing cables supplied in the travel case. This makes life alot easier plugging things in and out and being able to see all the screens to confirm they are all charging.

Problem-solving charging settings if the battery is not charging the Ipads

If the battery is charging but is not charging the Ipads you may need to adjust the settings on the battery. Here is how to do that…

Step 1

Access the default settings by pressing and holding the triangular button until you see the menu change…

Step 2

Once you are in the default settings then press the same triangular button to scroll through the options until you see the settings for the usb-c port title “USB C PD 1”

Step 3

The setting on this screen should be set to “OUTPUT” if it is not then press the “Tick” button located at the bottom left of the screen to change the setting to “OUTPUT”

Step 4

You will need to do the same for the second usb-c port title “USB C PD 2”

step 5

Once you’ve made those changes wait a few moments for the menu to return to the original simple menu displaying power settings.

Things to look out for and consider when charging all units…

PASSTHROUGH CHARGING:

It is possible to recharge other devices while the Sherpa is being charged. Plug the Sherpa into a power source and make sure it’s still powered on, then plug the phone/laptop/tablet or another device into the Sherpa. Make sure to watch the output levels on the ports to ensure the Sherpa is pulling enough power to meet the power demands of what is plugged in.

*TECH TIP: If TIME TO EMPTY is displayed on the screen, the Sherpa will not have enough power to recharge. If TIME TO FULL is displayed, the Sherpa is pulling enough power to charge what’s plugged in and itself.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Drawing Too Much Power

  • The Sherpa can output 170W by utilizing all its ports at once. If that draw is exceeded, the Sherpa will stop working and this screen will be displayed.
*TECH TIP: If the Sherpa is charging from a high enough power source, you can achieve a higher max output.

  • To avoid this shutdown, monitor power usage on the Main Page and Outputs Page and closely monitor what is being plugged in.

  • The arrow on the Main Page indicating power out will begin to blink if the Sherpa is nearing shutdown.
