Project Overview

Client: Translink

Location: East Vancouver, BC

Duration: 2022

Scope:
To engage and educate the public on the use of multi-mode transportation during the annual P.N.E. fair.

The Brief

To enact old school analogue interaction, by creating nostalgic carnival style installations that complements the Car Free Day messaging.

Onlookers should be enticed to engage and interact with the installation.

considerations

  • A fun, old school carnivalesque game

  • Playable by both children and adults

  • Interactive and informative

  • Engage with the public

  • Create a positive space

The Result

A crowd-pleasing old-school game that drew in a high volume of players who had fun and were informed about the different modes of transportation. We also added in the beautiful Translink Transit Garden where passersby were offered the opportunity to sit, have their caricature drawn by a sketch artist, or to simply snap a selfie with the beautiful floral backdrop.

Process

By up-cycling the hood of an old Honda Civic, installing a booming sound system, and inserting a plethora of lights we were able to create a novel interactive game that caught audiences’ imaginations.
