Metro Van at the PNE - Voting TUbes
Project Overview
Client: Metro Vancouver
Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Duration: 2024
Scope: A simple, interactive voting installation that is meant to gather public feedback on waste reduction preferences.
BRIEF
The Voting Tubes installation, created for Metro Vancouver at the PNE, provides an engaging way for the public to participate in waste reduction discussions. Featuring four 7-foot acrylic tubes with the question “What are you most willing to try to reduce your waste?” displayed at the top, visitors can cast their vote by dropping a bottle cap into a tube. Each tube represents a different waste reduction option, allowing participants to easily visualize collective choices. It’s designed to be reskinnable, with the flexibility to change both the question and answer options, making it adaptable for various topics and campaigns beyond waste reduction.
Considerations
Selecting clear, durable acrylic for the tubes to ensure visibility and withstand frequent use.
Maintaining simplicity in mechanics for high engagement with minimal instruction.
Ensuring stability of the 7-foot tubes for safe interaction in a busy public setting.

Concept designs & 3d Models
Our 3D modeling process combines precision and creativity, allowing us to bring complex concepts to life in a visually compelling way. Starting with detailed client insights and sketches, our team crafts each element of the activation in a digital 3D space, refining the design to ensure structural integrity and visual impact. This process enables us to preview and perfect every detail before production, ensuring the final activation captures both the intended functionality and aesthetic. The result is a meticulously designed model that serves as a blueprint for fabrication, aligning seamlessly with the project’s vision and enhancing the viewer's immersive experience.
