Translink BRT Render
Project Overview
Client: Translink
Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Duration: 3-Months
Scope: Creative Others collaborated with TransLink to bring their Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vision to life through phased design, refined renderings, and dynamic bus wrap concepts. This project captured the essence of the BRT stations and system, from architectural features to visual branding, aligning closely with TransLink’s goals for accessible, vibrant urban transit.
BRIEF
TransLink sought to showcase the vision and value of their future BRT system, inviting community and stakeholder engagement through early visual representations. The project goal was to capture the spirit of accessible, efficient urban transport with conceptual imagery and graphics that would inspire public and stakeholder support while maintaining flexibility as the design progressed. The result needed to communicate both functionality and aesthetic appeal, aligning with TransLink’s existing brand identity.
Considerations
Design Flexibility: Concepts reflect the evolving nature of the project, with adaptable features and a focus on community feedback.
User Accessibility: Ensured that designs considered the needs of diverse users, including features for accessibility and clear, intuitive signage.
Visual Engagement: Employed a balance of photorealism and stylized elements to engage a broad audience, including stakeholders, planners, and the public.
Brand Alignment: Maintained visual consistency with TransLink’s branding across all elements, enhancing recognition and coherence.
Public Art Integration: Incorporated art as an optional enhancement to enrich the cultural and visual impact of the BRT stations.
The Result
The final deliverables provided TransLink with a compelling visual narrative for the BRT project. The design concepts and detailed renderings showcased accessible, modern station layouts and vibrant bus wraps, effectively capturing the system’s potential to transform urban travel. With clear, engaging imagery, the project has set a foundation for TransLink’s vision to be shared confidently with the public and stakeholders, generating excitement and support for the future of rapid transit in the region.
Concept Design
During the concept design phase, we concentrated on the station's layout and structure, defining elements like platform placement, accessibility features, and the overall flow for passengers. We determined optimal camera angles to capture the station’s key features, while carefully selecting signage that would ensure clear, consistent wayfinding. Additionally, we evaluated different bus models to complement the station design, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing integration of all elements.
2. Refined Design
In the refined design stage, we collaborated closely with engineers to perfect the station model, focusing on precise details to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility. We explored various visual styles to determine how best to present the final render, balancing realism with design clarity. This phase also involved crafting a unique visual identity for the bus, creating a cohesive aesthetic that aligned with the overall BRT system and enhanced brand recognition.
Bus Vinyl Wrap Design
We produced a compelling client testimonial video featuring six of Dr. Diana Forbes' patients, each sharing their positive experiences and the impact of her work. The video authentically showcases the trust and admiration her clients have for her, reinforcing her expertise and personal connection with patients.
